The historical charm of the hotel is impressive. The staff is welcoming and helpful, with a great log fire in the evening. The breakfast buffet was very good. This hotel is situated in a great location for exploring wooded hills and walking in the countryside.
There is no designated parking for cars or motorbikes, and there are steps in the room, making it challenging to navigate in the dark. the annual festival in the nearby town with loud music playing until 4 A.M. can be disturbing, despite the hotel's upfront warning - thankfully, shutters block out most external noise.

I loved the cozy and rustic feeling of this hotel, it was perfect for a Christmas getaway. the staff were absolutely amazing, always making sure that we were well taken care of. the breakfast buffet was delicious, with a great selection of foods to choose from. the outdoor swimming pool was a great feature, even during the winter months, and the surrounding hills were perfect for long walks.
The hotel was located near a busy area, which made it difficult to find parking. We had to leave our car quite far from the hotel and walk with all our luggage.
